I’m just back from a great week with Pacific Links at Bear Mountain golf & spa resort where I played more golf in four days then I care to remember. I did have the pleasure of playing with some great people during the week starting with John Cook from the Golf Channel’s morning drive, Jasper Parnevik once of our partners J. Lindeberg, Peter Kwee the owner of Laguna National Golf and Country Club in Singapore, Peter Barrett who bought an auction prize at the Club Leadership Summit at Lords and David MacLaren from the European Tour. As you can see from the picture we were blessed with great weather all week and the views from Bear Mountain are some of the best I have ever seen.
This week I have a meeting with the founder of a new company, Sherpr which provides a service in Europe rather like Ship Sticks. Andy Watson, one of the original guys from Spotify in Europe has a great passion to deliver a first class service and his experience from Spotify and FLIO give him a great grounding to succeed. He will also be joining us as a panelist for our IT Q&A at the Club Leadership Summit along with the CEO’s of Golf Genius and North Star.
Thanks to Laura McDonald, I had the opportunity to play in the Guinness and Oysters London event at Burhill, and thanks to some great partners managed to win and we have been invited to the Grand final at Royal Portrush on the 5th October. I have never played the course before and looking forward to seeing the design in readiness for the Open in 2019.
Finally, football and I’m delighted that we won our first Champions League game but it seems we can’t shrug off the Wembley curse for the Premiership, I felt we were all over Swansea and to only get a point was very troubling. With the teams from Manchester looking very strong, I think we might struggle to contend this year.
Until next time COYS
