My apologies that the blog is a couple of days late this week but I wanted to wait until after my trip of a life time, an exclusive tour of the Tottenham Hotspurs training ground.
The trip was arranged by Nick Brown, the European Sales Manager for Ransome Jacobson & E-Z-GO (one of our Sponsors for The Club Leadership Summit). Darren Baldwin the Head of Playing services & Estates for Spurs who has been at the club for 21 years showed me every area including the first team’s dining room and we got to see the first team training for the big game against Everton on Saturday. My thanks to him and to Nick
The vision and the attention to detail is amazing and no wonder the performance on the field has improved during the 6 years the academy has been open. Everything has been thought of and the future plans are just as exciting with rooms coming on line and a fantastic garden area equipped with the best BBQ I have ever seen. I just wish I was 8 again and good enough to play for the mighty Spurs all the way through until the first team as the facilities are truly second to none for any “would be” professional.
Next week I travel to Canada for the Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship a Champions Tour event held in Victoria. This is my second trip to the event, last year I had a great experience at the Bear Mountain Golf Resort and Spa watching Monty win and I see that Sir Nick Faldo is in the line-up this year, wouldn’t it be great to have back to back European winners? Pacific Links present a great event and the hospitality put on by Rudy Anderson and his team is world class. I am looking forward to seeing David MacLaren (head of the European Senior Tour and head of European Tour Properties) and discussing that their courses join this great programme.
Pacific Links are not only our blog partner but also a partner to the Club Leadership Summitand I am delighted to report that we have already had a great take up from past delegates, who once again wish to attend the industry’s best “invite only” networking and education event. Some of the very best clubs and resorts in Europe, US and the Middle East are represented and indeed delegates from over 15 countries are now expected. There are still some “early bird rate” places left for those who have been invited but not taken advantage, so please get in touch if you’d like to come and I will look forward to seeing you in Belfast from the 3rd to the 5th of December.
Until next time
